Ivan's law was a pronouncement that I made in July of 2000, at the then Greenlees Park Bowling Club. Explaining my understandong of the fundamentals of marital bliss I stated "merit points do not accumulate, but demerit points do". This was the most profound observation that I have ever made or hope to make. It was christened Ivan's Law by Roger Williamson, famous cricketer, yacthsman, explorer and ratbag. The rest of this blog is an authentic grumpy old man's optimistic world view.
